THE FOREST NEXT TO MY CHILDHOOD HOME
I took a map of my village, Eksel, and cut out all the woods. The shape of the forest next to my house
stood out to me. By dipping fallen leaves from this forest into beeswax they last longer and
become a bit stronger. The leaves are sewn together and then cut into this specific shape of the forest.
This wearable piece of forest is worn around the neck, close to the heart. The work plays with the transience of nature and the contrast between organic forms and
cultural structures created by humans.
